Suspect Charged in Brandy Circle Shooting

(COLUMBIANA, AL) On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at approximately 1:30 PM, Shelby County 911 received a call of shooting with injuries at a residence on Brandy Circle in Chelsea, Alabama.  Deputies responded to the residence and discovered a male and a female with gunshot injuries.  Deputies detained a suspect at the residence and secured the scene for the Chelsea Fire Department to render aid to the victims.  Both victims were transported to a Birmingham area hospital for treatment for their injuries where they are currently in stable condition.

Investigators from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence and the hospital to gather additional information about the incident, and their investigation has led them to charge Nicholas Tyler Hardin, 19 years old of Chelsea, with two counts of Assault 1st. Hardin is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $60,000.

Sheriff John Samaniego stated, “I’m incredibly proud of our patrol deputies for taking quick action, securing our area schools, apprehending the suspect, and making the scene safe to render aid.  Our investigators will continue to work diligently to ensure all facts in this case are brought to light.”
