New Non-Emergency Phone Number

Effective October 1st, 2020, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office will put into effect a new user friendly non-emergency/business use telephone number. The new number is (205) 670-6000. This new phone number will utilize an automated system which will allow citizens to direct dial different divisions of the Sheriff’s Office for non-emergency and business related inquiries.  Citizens can also access an employee directory which is located on our website, www.shelbyso.com under the “Contact Us” tab on the left side of the home page.

We encourage everyone to continue to dial 9-1-1 for all emergency related calls for service. For more information on the use of our new non-emergency/business use telephone number, visit our website, www.shelbyso.com, and click on the “Helpful Links” tab at the top of the page, then click on “Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).”

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our efforts in providing the highest level of professional law enforcement services to the community.  I believe that this new, easy to remember number will further improve our communication with our citizens and provide a solution to their needs,” stated Sheriff John Samaniego.
