The School Resource / DARE Unit works with the public schools in Shelby County and provides programs for students and teachers.

The School Resource Officer’s goal is to provide a positive role model to students and intervene in situations that could become problematic. This officer primarily works in middle and high schools.

The DARE Officer delivers an anti-drug and conflict resolution message to fifth grade students at Chelsea, Vincent, Oak Mountain, Inverness, Shelby, and Wilsonville Elementary Schools.
