Thank you for visiting the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office website. In an effort to provide the best service possible to the public, we are always looking for ways to improve. Our webpage is no exception. There are several new items available under the button labeled “MyShelbySO” which is listed below. These items include Lost and Abandoned Property, the Citizen’s Firearms Safety Course, Shelby County Crime Statistics as well as a Satisfaction Survey. The Crime Statistics page allows you to see where crime is occuring in our County and you can register to receive e-mail alerts whenever a crime is reported close to your home. The Survey allows you to give us feedback on our performance in the field as well as in the office.

Don’t forget to join us on Facebook and Twitter for real time information.

Media News - This site is designed to allow our Office to respond to questions asked by the media when more than one media outlet may want the same information.

Lost/Abandoned Property - This site will list lost or abandoned property that our Office has recovered in the hopes of returning it to its owner.

Citizen’s Firearms Safety Course - This site will advertise a new service offered by our Office to residents of Shelby County. Course listings and the registration form can be found here.

Shelby County Crime Statistics - This site will enable residents to search the County for reported crimes by location as well as sign up to receive e-mail alerts when crimes are reported close to their residence.

Sheriff’s Customer Satisfaction Survey - This site contains a new survey that we are excited about. It provides an easy way for citizens to give us feedback on how well we are providing the services they want.

In addition to the new services mentioned above, many of the services previously offered will also be available in “MyShelbySO” including the following: Shelby’s Most Wanted, Sheriff’s Dispatch Log, Shelby County Inmate Listing, the Report Criminal Activity link and the Contact Us page.

I hope that you find these new services helpful and please feel free to contact me or any member of my staff if you have a question or need help.

ICE-Victim Notification Program

ICE is committed to protecting the public and ensuring that victim rights are carefully observed. ICE can initiate removal proceedings against criminal aliens who are convicted of certain crimes. ICE takes custody of the inmate after the criminal alien has completed their federal or state criminal sentence. On occasion, ICE may not be able remove a criminal alien. This can happen for several reasonsthe most common being the inability of ICE to secure travel authorization documents for the alien. Dependingon the situation, ICE may have to release the criminal alien under an order of supervision or on bond. Once the criminal alien is placed in ICE custody, the Victim Notification Program will provide information to eligible victims and witnesses who register to be notified of release related activities. Victims and witnesses must submit the "Victim Request for Notification of Criminal Alien Status" form. ICE will make every effort to keep victims and witnesses advised of the release status of the offender. Registered victims and witnesses will be advised when the criminal alien is released from custody or removed.
